Nor'Easter to Impact Area - Heavy Snow Possible
A very late season snow storm will impact the area starting Sunday
morning. The National Weather Service is advising the potential exists
for a foot or more of heavy wet snow by the time the storm winds down
Monday afternoon.
The heavy wet snow will be combined with sustained winds forecast to be
up to 20 mph. This combination has the potential to cause downed tree
and power lines. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Sunday afternoon
and evening..
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Central
New York, including Chenango County. While there is still some
uncertainty as to the track of the storm, all of the major computer
weather models are forecasting a serious winter storm impacting our
area. When the track becomes more certain, the weather service will
likely issue a Winter Storm Warning.
