<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Mayor and members of the
City of Norwich Common Council along with the Code Enforcement Office wishes to
remind all City property owners of their obligation to remove all snow and ice
from sidewalks along City streets within 24 hours after the end of any
snowfall. If ice can not be removed without damaging the sidewalk, the walkway
shall be strewn with sand or other gritty materials. <br style="">

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Mayor, City Aldermen and
the Codes Office are aware that the situation of the sidewalks will cause
numerous complaints to be filed. Each complaint will be addressed on a case by
case basis. If you can not remove the snow in a timely manner, please contact
the Code Enforcement Office at 334-1242 and inform us that you are having
problems in removing the snow due to extenuating circumstances. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">City of <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Norwich</st1:place></st1:City> property owners should also be aware
of snow, ice and water accumulation on flat roofs. The combined weight of the
snow, ice and water is more than what most flat roof structures were designed
to withstand. The City recommends that if your building has a flat-roof, that they
be check for snow and ice accumulation, and that the roof drains are
functioning properly.<span style=""> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Many of us have friends and
neighbors that have a difficult time in the winter season clearing their
sidewalks. While you are out clearing yours, it would be a wonderful gesture if
you could take the time to help them out as well.</span><b style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
