Deer Control:
After receiving a number of complaints regarding deer within the city limits, The City of Norwich formed a Deer Committee to gauge whether there is enough concern to further evaluate the deer issue. Two concerns about deer are destruction of plantings and tick-bourne illnesses such as Lyme disease. The Deer Committee has met with the DEC to discuss potential solutions and found that an extensive plan would have to be submitted. The first step is to conduct a survey of residents in order to determine if the issues with deer are serious or wide-ranging enough to pursue.
